Position Summary

The Truck Driver – Flatbed is responsible for safely transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites across Eastern Ontario as part of a travelling crew. This role requires excellent driving ability, attention to detail, and a strong safety mindset to ensure secure, compliant, and timely deliveries. The driver will complete daily circle checks, maintain accurate electronic logbooks, and ensure the vehicle is kept in safe, clean working condition. Working closely with the crew, this role requires clear and consistent communication, as well as the flexibility to travel extensively Monday through Friday, including frequent overnights.

This position typically includes 12-14 hour workdays.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a flatbed/tandem truck to transport equipment and materials across job sites throughout Eastern Ontario
  • Load, secure, and unload equipment using proper tie-down procedures to ensure safe transport
  • Complete daily circle checks and inspections (tires, lights, brakes, etc.) in accordance with company standards and MTO regulations
  • Maintain Hours of Service compliance using electronic logbooks (ELDs) and complete all required CVOR documentation
  • Communicate regularly with the Operations Supervisor to receive assignments and provide timely updates on deliveries and job site status
  • Ensure the truck is maintained in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition, recognizing it as a primary workspace
  • Support job site operations as required, including light manual labour and coordination with crew members
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and company policies to support a strong safety culture
